Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) : 1) The biologically active component of a drug product that provides the intended therapeutic effect. 2) To directly interact with the body to treat or prevent a medical condition. 3) The final product that is formulated into a dosage form, such as a tablet or capsule, and is administered to a patient. 4) Undergo rigorous testing and must receive regulatory approval for quality, safety, and efficacy before they can be used in pharmaceutical products.
